SG-3100 loses WAN connection
-
Hello,
I've been having a strange issue, which I blamed on Verizon, but I'm thinking it may be a setting or something on the 3100.
Every now and again, it will lose connection on WAN. Going into Status -> Interfaces (noticing that ip is 0.0.0.0, and interface is down) and repeatedly clicking on Release WAN, and Relinquish Lease when it appears, will sometimes work, but only after a long while ( 30 mins ). If I boot up the Verizon router and plug it into the ethernet from the ONT, it works. Sometimes it has pulled a new ip, but not always.
My hack to get the 3100 back online within minutes is to plug 3100 WAN into the Verizon router LAN so that it pulls a 192.168.1.x address, then plug the WAN back into the ONT ethernet, at which point it successfully pulls its public IP.
The only relevant logs I can find look like
WAN_DHCP x.x.x.x: sendto error: 65
and
WAN_DHCP x.x.x.x: Alarm latency 2246us stddev 1109us loss 26%
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
Edit:
Just noticed some of these errors also occur when plugged into the verizon router, using a different, store bought, ethernet cablerc.gateway_alarm 8413 >>> Gateway alarm: WAN_DHCP (Addr:192.168.1.1 Alarm:1 RTT:.483ms RTTsd:.056ms Loss:21%)

@metacyclic This is getting unusable. Happened twice today. The verizon router recovers instantly, as does the eeros. But the 3100 just hangs

My issues were in part related to this
I still think something isn't quite right, but will post in the proper forum.
