After 2.5.0 update, Dashboard never receives update statue for version
-
Do you have any items disabled in the system information widget?
If you go to System > Updates does it complete the check there?

@stephenw10 Same at System > Updates
-
@stephenw10 - I turned off the State Table and I can still get to the system:update option, it seems to be just the main dashboard that has the issue - turning off the State Table option also disables the CPU activity display.

@edmund For me it´s not helping, still "Unable to check for updates" :( (since 2.5, before everything was fine)
Actually reviewing this are you saying that is does complete the update check but returns 'Unable to check for updates' ? Because that's an entirely different issue if so. You should open a new thread.

On your own hardware? Open a ticket if you need a 2.4.5 image. https://go.netgate.com/

Yes, Im using PC Engines APU2. There is no other way to get a link for the old image?
-
Not currently. Not officially at least. We can normally reply there in minutes though.

@stephenw10 Ok , I found the reason: Since I have multi Wan using 2 Gateway groups with failover, I have disabled the default Gateway (Routing > Default gateway > none). Thats the reason the console has no internet and cant check for updates. After changing it to automatic, Im receiving updates. Now I reverted back to 2.4.4 and there I can check for updates even without set a default gateway!

I have the same issues: "Obtaining upgrade status" and "Retrieving CPU data" are stuck on the turning cog. Check under System | Update shows that I'm on the current version - "Status Up to date."
OpenVPN, pfBlockerNG are working fine. NO issue with unbound (fingers crossed).
-
And you have the state-table size field displayed in the widget?
If so it's probably script blocking in your browser.
Steve
-
@stephenw10 - No. I just rerified that the "state-table size" field is not selected in the widget.
Verified in Firefox 86.0 (64-bit) and Chrome 88.0.4324.182 (Official Build) (64-bit) under Ubuntu 20.10 x86_64.
-
Ah, OK. Then you're hitting the bug detailed above.
-
@stephenw10 Enabled "state-table size" and it works. I think is reversed the suggested workaround (e.g., it should not be enabled rather than it should be enabled...)

The bug report title is: Disabling 'State Table Size' prevents other data being displayed
So don't do that....or use the patch linked there is you really don't want the state table size displayed before p2.
