gs348t static IP - no admin page

Hello, I just purchased a Netgate gs348t switch. When I boot with dynamic DHCP and search for the switch, I can load the admin page. However, if I use pfsense to statically assign the switch an IP address, I can no longer access the admin page.
Do you know why this is and how I can work around it? Steps to reproduce:
- Configure PFSense to server DHCP
- Attach gs348t to network - use Netgear switch discovery tool to locate switch, and login to admin page.
- In Pfsense - go to dhcp leases and find the dynamic lease and IP - click add static mapping
- assign Ip address - reload dhcp, possibly restart netgear switch etc...
- Use Netgear switch discovery tool to find netgear switch - it is on the static IP
- Attempt to login to admin page - won't load.
I then have to remove the static config, factory reset the switch, and when it gets the dynamic IP, I can login again.

This is more of a Netgear issue, not pfSense the NGFW DHCP static mapping has nothing to do with it...
I have used thousands of switches with pfS and never experienced this...
BTW (f.e.: as here):
log into the Netgear web interface and enter a fixed MGMT IP - and see what happens this way... -
If you set a static dhcp mapping for the switch in pfSense it will be outside the DHCP scope, the IP address must change. But the will not get that new IP until it pulls a new lease which won't happen until the old one expires or it's forced to renew, by rebooting it for example.

Spot on.
The dhcp lease will not renew immediately.
I find the best method is:- create the static mapping in the dhcp server,
- go to the current dhcp assignment for that device,
- set that device to static ip (identical to the mapping),
- browse to the new static ip and set that device back to dhcp.
Long winded but works every time, particularly for devices such as cameras that are harder to initiate a dhcp renewal.

I won't be home for about a week but I'll try this when I get home. However the issue wasn't that I couldn't get a DHCP address for the switch, i can ping the switch on that static address for example, and the Netgear switch finding tool worked fine to find the switch on the static IP address. The issue was really when I went to the browser for the admin page of the switch it wouldn't pull up. I'll check out these suggestions in a week (thank you).

Hmm, well that sounds like either a bug in the switch firmware or something cached locally in your browser.

Exactly,..... in my reading it is appropriate to assign a static IP to network devices for MGMT (for important basic tools, like switches, etc.) anyway

Might be good advice.
I never use that browser to configure network devices, which I use to browse the web.
For this purpose I installed a Chromium or Iridium or LibreWolf (for Firefox fork) browser, without any addons, the default setting should always delete and or not store cookies + history, and of course use CCleaner or similar.
