You're workaround also fixed the issue for me!
The issue on my machine was not because of manual disconnects; it was when probably renewing DHCP every 24h. Sometimes it would not come back online and it would give:
« CHAT: The modem is not responding to "AT" at ModemCmd: label. »
Error in log.
power_off and power_on solved it without having to reboot the whole machine. Seems like for some reason /dev/cuaU0.2 was locked also but it doesn't appear in the logs.
Yup, those Ethernet connected Netgear LTE modems work well.
You can use many USB LTE modems directly with pfSense though. What exactly is the device you have?

It looks like you have something configured using 192.168/16 somewhere that is conflicting. It's not in the routing table though.
I would open your config file and search it for 192.168 and see what pops out at this point. There will be a lot of entries since you're using that for LAN.

First off, what your phone can do is irrelevant. It's what the actual equipment you use is capable of that matters. However, you're not going to get anywhere near 1 Gb with LTE, no matter what you use.
