      Hi.

Has anybody got an idea on how to resolve this. i have just finished installing "pfSense 2.3.2-RELEASE (amd64 full-install)".  i tried to load the packages through package manager and the response was Unable to retrieve package information. The system seems unable too to also check for updates. i tried to check if the update module in ssh would be successful. It was also a fail with the response of:

      Updating repositories metadata…
      Updating pfSense-core repository catalogue...
      pkg: https://pkg.pfsense.org/pfSense_v2_3_2_amd64-core/meta.txz: Authentication error
repository pfSense-core has no meta file, using default settings
      pkg: https://pkg.pfsense.org/pfSense_v2_3_2_amd64-core/packagesite.txz: Authentication error

Can anybody point me in the right direction.

      thanks :(

Looks like some sort of general connectivity error. Is there a proxy or some other sort of web filter between this firewall and the Internet?

Looks like you did not complete the proxy authentication correctly.

Same issue here. Credentials don't matter for proxy we have to route through. Curl routes fine using the proxy.

Same errors given about authentication however, on shell updates, any idea's from anyone.

It is fixed on the latest 2.4 snapshots. There was a bug in FreeBSD's handling of proxy authentication in HTTPS.

Thank you! - I didn't find a reference to anything about that after lots of searching - hopefully this helps others as well.

                    Thanks for this post !
I download pfSense-CE-2.4.0-BETA-amd64-20170404-1642, and I still have the problem " Proxy Authentication Required " when I try pkg update from the console.

If I use "set" in the console I see

                    http_proxy PROXYIP:8012
                    http_proxy_auth basic:*:user:password
                    http_proxy_auth_pass password
                    http_proxy_auth_user user
                    http_proxy_port 8012

but nothing for https … could it be the problem ?
