Remove old packages from GUI ?

  • Hi!
I had a ntop and snort packages..
i have exporte configuration as XML.., and then installed new pfsense 1.2
other packages was succesfully instaled (like arping, squid and so on), but snort and ntop doesn't exists anymore..

so can i somhow "force" a instaliration of ntop and snort ?

    OR

how can I remove these two options from my menu in pfsense web gui…

    thank you!

  • The easiest way to get rid of the old package menus from the GUI is to download the config, and edit the xml. Look for the items under installedpackages and delete them. Save the config and restore it to the firewall. Keep a backup config and be careful, it's possible to trash the firewall if you screw up.

hmm i understand.., i didn't look at the content of xml file, but it think that packages should be on more placese…., i will take a lok..

but if it is possible, i need ntop and snort.. why i can't install them at my responsibility... ?
