      I'm trying to get a Novatel Wireless 5792 device to work with PfSense. This device is also known as an AT&T Liberate device.

      If I plug it into to my pfSense physical device running 2.4.1, it does in fact recognize it.

      [2.4.1-RELEASE][root@pfSense.home]/dev: usbconfig -d ugen0.4 dump_device_desc
      ugen0.4: <novatel 5792="" wireless="" mifi="">at usbus0, cfg=0 md=HOST spd=HIGH (480Mbps) pwr=ON (500mA)

        bLength = 0x0012
        bDescriptorType = 0x0001
        bcdUSB = 0x0200
        bDeviceClass = 0x0002  <communication device="">bDeviceSubClass = 0x0006
        bDeviceProtocol = 0x0000
        bMaxPacketSize0 = 0x0040
        idVendor = 0x1410
        idProduct = 0xb009
        bcdDevice = 0x0228
        iManufacturer = 0x0001  <novatel wireless="">iProduct = 0x0002  <mifi 5792="">iSerialNumber = 0x0003  <0123456789ABCDEF>
        bNumConfigurations = 0x0002</mifi></novatel></communication></novatel>

      But when I go to add it under an Interface>PPP, it does not find it. All it finds under PPP interfaces is /deve/cuau0. It will detect that regardless of if the MiFi device is plugged in via USB to the pfSense or not.

      Is there anything else that I need to do in order to enable support for this device?
