The r2 would be a good fit hw wise if I can get it to work

The b-pi image has been available for FreeBSD since late 2016, IIRC.
For pfSense, we already have SG-1000, which is armv6, like b-pi.
We’ve announced that we’re doing espresso.bin, which is arm64, and therefore much faster than banana-pi.
