Pfsense blocking Playstation network on my ps4 and 3 and other phone apps

And what speeds do you get with this other router?

yes and like i say it works fine with the plusnet router
Sounds very much like a WiFi issue, not a pfSense issue.
-
From the plusnet site looks like lowest broadband connection is 10mbps - your showing 1.5mbps - that is just HORRIBLE!!!
Pfsense doesn't block anything out of the box.. Nothing.. Pfsense doesn't care or even know if the traffic is wired or wireless... You have something wrong that is not pfsense related.
If pfsense broke playstation network connectivity... The forum would have a ddos from all the complaints ;)
But pfsense for sure can help you figure out what is going on... Do a sniff for your Playstations IP, set the packet limit to 0... Then sniff while you try and do your playstation test.. Then post up this pcap, and we can take a look see.

@davidserverguy2019 Hey
You can show the output of the command ifconfig -m ?
You can do this in Diagnostics / Command Prompt
And show more Diagnostics /Packet Capture - interface Lan and ip of Playstation host -
i will do the pack capture so on tonight and post off this evening
-
so why are you seeing 22mbps down and 2mbps up with the other router?
-
@johnpoz there is one idea , but I need to see the result of packet capture and ifconfig
-
its DM400 its rubbish in modem router mode not too bad in modem mode
-
Yeah really need to see a packet capture.. 17.5kbps up is means there is something major wrong if your seeing 2mbps normally.
That is 115X different..
-
i will do it this even also can a anyone recommend a good modem only to buy?
i am grateful for all you help guys
-
What hardware are you running pfSense on? Or did I miss that somewhere?
-
For what kind of connection? You would really need to use something that is ok'd by your ISP to be honest.
I have my own cable modem - but it is listed on their compatibility list, while something for sure could work that supports the technology your ISP is using.. If not on their approved list, and something isn't working they will just say its the modem..

You are on ADSL I assume with those speeds? Rather than VDSL(FTTC).
I used a Draytek V120 with Plusnet on ADSL very successfully for years. The V130 can also do VDSL if you ever upgrade to "fibre". I think I still have it here somewhere...
Otherwise the standard Openreach modems are great for VDSL and I believe they can also do ADSL though I've never tried that.
