    Good evening,

I just received a new SG-5100 and have it up and running. However, when I check for a coreboot update I get:

The following input errors were detected:

This function is only available for Netgate Inc. hardware

This is a 100% authebtic device. My config has been run on both official and unofficial devices. Perhaps there's something on there causing this? Please advise.

Well, that summed it up pretty sweetly. I'll remove the package now and move on. Thanks for the help!

Why is the coreboot package installed by default in a sg5100 factory image? Why doesn't netgate remove the coreboot package from the sg5100 factory images if they know that system does not use/support it?

I'm not sure that it is??? I imported a config from an SG-2440 which DOES use coreboot. So I assume the package was installed as a result of importing the 2440 config.

It is. I recently purchased an SG5100 and it was installed. It appears even after reinstalling from the factory image. I guess 5100 uses a generic pfSense image that other devices use that happen to use coreboot and netgate rather not go to the trouble of making a special image with coreboot removed just for the 5100.

@gfeiner very interesting and odd. I would have expected the customized image to be 100% configured to the devices capabilites. They really should make a note in the quickstart guide or something.

Thanks for pointing that out. I don't think anything using the VGA memstick image needs the Coreboot updater. I'll see baout removing it.
