    Hi

    I'm attempting to do a virtual install of pfSense 2.4.4 on a AMD Ryzen 5 1700 machine running CentOS 8 and the included version of kvm/libvirt/qemu. The install seems to boot, but gets stuck at the attached screen saying EFI framebuffer information: and a bunch of other stuff about that.

    The install freezes and this behaviour is not helped by 2.5.0 development nor safe mode.

    Is there anything I can do to make this work?

    Thanks! alt text

        Problem solved. You need to set "Westmere" or "kvm64" CPU type instead of host passthrough in libvirt/virsh/kvm/qemu configuration file "virsh edit $vmname"

        <cpu mode='custom' match='exact' check='none'>
        <model fallback='allow'>Westmere</model>
        <topology sockets='1' cores='6' threads='2'/>
        </cpu>
