Panic - and cannot get into single user mode

Hi all,
Relative noob here. I had a power outage and now my SG-3100 will not come up. I've managed to get console connected. However, just as pfsense loads, I get this panic....try as I might, I CANNOT get into single-user mode to run fsck

your file system is corrupted anyway i suggest you to open a ticket at https://go.netgate.com
they usually answer very fast !
you probably need to reinstall or fsck from an external boot
https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/solutions/sg-3100/reinstall-pfsense.html -
I was able to Cntrl+C sometime during the boot process then repeatedly run fsck -y till the check came clean. The firewall recovered and rebooted. Still having odd artifacts like a static IP reservation not being honored. However, by and large the system is back.

does asking the support really help? i have been on some sites where it doesnt really help a lot, Do you have any experience with it?

Yep.
The guys from Netgate know a lot about pfSense, and the appliances they design, build and sell.@Netboy1990 said in Panic - and cannot get into single user mode:

"fast" for a person could be "slow" for another.
What do you mean with "some sites" ?@Netboy1990 said in Panic - and cannot get into single user mode:

This forum is full with experiences from people that contacted support. Check out this site - no need to go else where.
Free tip : The fastest support ever : just remove the need to contact support !
It's easy to get a close to zero chance of a wrecked up file system : never remove out the power - or do not have the power being removed. Don't rely on others to enforce this rule : take the counter measures upfront : install an UPS, and done with file system errors. -
@Gertjan Sounds good to me, i´m pretty new to this plattform but its not been the first i have been on and there (mostly german sites) it sometimes takes weeks to get a reply and then its a shitty one as well.

All support subscriptions have a maximum initial response SLA of 24hrs but I've never seen a ticket get close to that. Often we are able to reply within minutes.
If you have a support subscription and open a ticket with us you will not be waiting weeks.Steve

@stephenw10 Sounds great to me, even more so hearing it from an administrator after 4 hours :D
