      I was updating a software package the other night and was looking at the traffic graphs while the update was progressing. Here's what I saw:

      The sawtooth at lan(out) is correlated with the software update to my desktop computer. Shouldn't I be seeing a corresponding pattern on wan(in)?

        @spacecase I wonder what kind of software did you update?

            @spacecase Does it show the same type of issue in Status/Traffic Graphs as opposed to the widget? I seem to recall relatively recent posts about the widget, though I don't typically use that so didn't really pay attention. I have experienced and read posts over the years about traffic numbers in queues or status either double or half the real number. Your widget doesn't look like that though.

            Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
            When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to reboot, or more depending on packages, and device or disk speed.

              @steveits, Thanks for the links.

              I haven't yet been able to look at the traffic graphs under 'status' under similar conditions. When the opportunity presents itself, I'll look again. FWIW, the program being updated was TurboTax.

              It could be a bug, but unless I can repeat it, I hesitate to report it. Perhaps I'll just have to wait to the next release and keep my eye on it in the interim.
