How do I restore settings from autoconfigbackup to a new device?
-
My SG-8860-1U in production failed (overheated, doesn't power on anymore), so I swapped in a spare SG-4860 I had, and upgraded it to the latest pfSense+.
I had autoconfigbackup running on the SG-8860-1U, but I don't see any way to restore in the menu settings. The SG-4860 was factory fresh, so it was not configured.
Is there any way to get the settings from the autoconfigbackup server and load them onto the "new" SG-4860.

autoconfigbackup
Would this help
https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/backup/autoconfigbackup.htmlMaybe better example
https://www.provya.com/blog/pfsense-making-automatic-backups-with-autoconfigbackup/Seems like you were asked to keep/save two keys when activating.
1: Encryption key
2: Device KeyNetgate has excellent user support for their customers.
You might want to try to contact support, maybe they can help out.I would expect the "possible interface difference" between the models would require some "trickery"

Yeah, if you recorded the key from the 8860 somewhere you can just enter that and restore a config.
Otherwise if you entered a Hint/Identifier we can try to find that for you or if you have the 8860 NDI we can search by that also.
