Export config from MTB-2220 and import to SG-1100?
-
There are actually two questions, e.g. "Can I?" and "Should I?" but I'll put the "Should I?" in a separate thread.
If I export a configuration from an MTB-2220/2.4.4 (with only two ports, LAN and WAN), can I then import it that configuration into an SG-1100/2.4.4 (WAN, LAN, and OPT)?
If I can't do it directly, can I make manual edits in the XML to make it work? And/or can I make some non-critical changes in the MBT-2220 before I export (like turning off hardware crypto acceleration) to make it work?
Obviously I want WAN to map to WAN and LAN to map to LAN.
Thanks!

Yes you can do it but you can't import it directly because all the interfaces in the 1100 are VLANs.
It's possible to edit the config manually to convert it but it's easy to make a mistake doing that. Be sure to have console access there first if you try that.
However we can convert that config for you if you open a ticket:

Ah, yes. I do remember being very confused when I first set up that SG-1100
But I eventually got it all figured out.
I'll circle back if I decide to do the migration. Thanks!

I'm back! I have just ordered Frontier Gig Fiber service for my home, so now I'm going to migrate my home office from an ancient APU to the SG-1100.
So I have the same original question about exporting a config from an APU and importing it an SG-1100. Can I still get an assist on this with a service ticket?

Yes, open a ticket and they can convert the config to allow it to import directly.
It will point out though that the SG-1100 will not pass 1Gps if the service you have is actually that.

Gig Fiber installed at home! I'm definitely router-limited, even just for regular internet access, much less IPSec throughput.
@stephenw10, is there a charge for this service? Or is this service included with my SG-1100? Thanks!
I know I won't get 1 Gbps; I'm just curious to see what I'd get between the SG-1100 at home and the MTB-2220 at the office.

No, we can convert the config to suit the 1100 as part of the support included with the hardware. Just open a ticket.
