    Hi, i have the same issue as the OP in the above post,, loopback going to port 953 and i have no idea why, it wasn't when i installed pfsense and i haven't changed anything .

    I have pfblocker and surratica installed other than those 2 it is a pretty standard install, would any of these 2 apps cause loopback to point to port 953?

    Can anyone offer any more info please.

    It has something to do with BIND.

      Not bind, but close.

      Execute this

      sockstat | grep 953
      

      and you see who it is.

      For the same purpose as bind.
      It's the control port, only bound to 127.0.0.1

      Edit : and where are the logs ??
