Limiter not work
-
Hello guys.
I have a problem and I still can't identify the source. When I apply a limiter, eg 10up/100down, I can't browse the client anymore, it's like all the packets are dropped by the filter. I'll post the screens for better understanding, but I believe I'm doing everything right. I don't have squid running on the machine, just packet filtering by common rules. I'm using version 2.6.0-RELEASE (amd64). Thanks if anyone can shed some light on what's going on.

Same here. I discover if i set only IN pipe and choose none for OUT PIPE, it works and limit the client upload, but if i then choose OUT PIPE, it totally block the client access to everything, included pfsense webgui.

@robsonvitorm I'm having the same issue in my firewall. For some reason the limiters are not aplying to any of the interfaces. Have you found any workaround yet ?
-
same here
must test deeper .. i'm on 2.6 CE
-
@abel406 Not yet. From what I've read, the problem has been fixed in the paid version of pfsense and in development versions. However, no release forecast for the stable version.
-
They must test deeper and should release fixes to CE also.
-
the problems are much deeper regarding whats under the surface
and yeep it seems to be fixed in the + version which you can get for free for home and lab usebr NP
-
@noplan Thanks, but i don't have a credit card or VAT number to subscribe, so i can't download it either. Have you downloaded a version for home or lab that could/would share ?
-
@abel406 Are you using Captive Portal? See
https://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/12954
"Traffic using Limiters created by the captive portal is sent to dummynet by ipfw and passes correctly."Plus is not available as a separate download. One upgrades from CE. I have not gone through the process but does it require a card for the $0 product? (you mentioned home/lab usage)

@abel406 I can't speak for the EU or other entities but the license is zero cost. VAT would seem to not apply. But I'm a tech, not an accountant.

@rcoleman-netgate
I'm not from US so why does it ask only for US States ? -
@abel406 It should ask for Country of Origin, but if you are in a country where there is an embargo you might not be able to purchase even the gratis license.
I recommend emailing sales@netgate.com for assistance on this.

@rcoleman-netgate I maganed to do it. I'm updating right now.
-
@rcoleman-netgate For some extrange reason, pfsense plus is blocking remote access to the PCs in my network, i guess that's one of the handycaps of using it for home or lab enviroments, but there's no comment about this in de documentation.

That's not a thing. I suggest starting a new thread about what isn't working, if it's not limiter related?
