Ah, that's fun! Yeah if you set it to 2.5G I would not expect the ix port to see it as that. It might just connect anyway but if it doesn't how would you reset it to 1G? Unless it has a hardware reset maybe?

@stephenw10 If it doesn't I have to put it into my Unifi switch. Unfortunately Amazon didn't deliver the 2.5G Ubiquiti module today so I have to wait until next week.

              Hi

@mrsunfire Did you try Ubiquiti SFP+ on your 6100 ? does it work at 2.5G ?

I also have a 6100 and try to make my ONT at 2.5G but it doesn't work I can't force the speed on pfsense. I tried to force my ONT on mode hsgmii ( fw_setenv sgmii_mode 5 ) with no success

My ONT works well at 2.5G on my switch mikrotik but I'm stuck at 1G on pfense.

Really annoying that we can't force speed on SFP+ ports on netgate 6100

@florent-pascal No I didn't try. I'm back using my 2.5G RJ45 Modem provided by ISP for the moment.

@mrsunfire I was also able to get the Ubiquiti OM-MM-10G-D to work, I'm still setting up the 6100 to replace an 1100. I was able to verify that the FW is able to hot swap the modules with a ticket as the docs do not state either way. (https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/solutions/netgate-6100/io-ports.html#compatible-sfp-sfp-modules).
