I have recently purchased the Netgate 6100 and i'm running the latest sw version 23.05.1-RELEASE (amd64)

I would like to install AVAHI using the Package Manager, but when I open the Available Packages, the list comes up empty (see screenshot below).

      Rebooting does not help.

Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong :-) ?

Not a bug, but surely not the 'latest'.

Go to System > Update > Update Settings and select the more recent version.

For some extra advise, have a look at this part of the forum : Home
pfSense® Software Problems Installing or Upgrading pfSense Software

edit : Notepad this some where : golden rule : before up install/update/upgrade/or even 'look' at packages, always make the pfSense version 'current' first.
When you see this (23.09.1 is now the latest version) :

        it's save to install packages.

Edit : and where are the logs ??

Yes, do not attempt to install packages if the update repo branch is not set to the same version you are running. It probably isn't in your case which is why it's failing to pull in the package list.

But you should upgrade to the current version before installing pkgs anyway.

You may have to resave the selected update branch or select a different branch and then move back to 'current stable version' to see it.
