DDNS Cloudflare suddenly broke
-
Hello.
I've had ddns setup with cloudflare for ages, and today I noticed that every attempt to update the ip gets an authentication error from Cloudflares api.
Even after reentering the ZoneID and api token. My pfsense box is still on 2.7, but I'm not inclined to update, especially since there doesn't seem to be any changes that impacts the cloudflare provider according to the changelogs for both 2.7.1 and 2.7.2.
Does anyone know what could've suddenly caused this?

Right, if cloudflare changes the way their DDNS works, then 2.7.0, or 2.7.2 will show the same issue.
cloudflare doesn't notify Netgate, if they change their DDNS API our interface, and, what I make of it, they don't inform you neither (but you are a client/user) ...@IzaacJ said in DDNS Cloudflare suddenly broke:

That is, normally, a wrong password or wrong ID ...
Are you able to update manually, by using their GUI ?
Just do nothing for a while. especially if it is a free service, companies don't run very fast for clients who use free services, they gave to prioritize paying clients ^^
As soon as more clients starts to complain, they, cloudflare, will correct the issue on their side, or update the FAQ/manual, or at least inform you whats is happening en when things are getting repaired.@IzaacJ said in DDNS Cloudflare suddenly broke:

Be careful, with 'many' attempts, as you will find yourself blacklisted for a certain time.
DDNS provider don't like it at all if you (your script) (tries to) update the DDNS record very often.
Example : if the original issue was your WAN connection going bad (some one was pulling the cable) and you've changed during the same day many times the WAN IP, your DDNS gets updated many times a day and finally your DDNS will blacklist you temporary. -
I am using cloudflare ddns - I just did a forced update of one of them, and don't see any issues.
