Why is getting the installer file so complicated?

- Nowadays, getting the installer requires registration. First annoyance..
- I put the installer in my cart, then try to login to the shop (I am a paying customer afterall, but want the installer for testing some things on a VM..)
- Middle finger number one from Netgate:
- Middle finger number two: this captcha, how unclear can you get?
- Middle finger number three: twice, seriously?
- Middle finger number four. Ok, what *** object am I supposed to click on?:
- Middle finger number five: Go to another browser. That tells me my password is wrong.
- Middle finger number six: Try to get a "reset password" link. No email sent.
- Fine, register a new account, same email address. That somehow works. But captcha still doesn't let me in on FF, only Chromium.. Maybe telling me that I don't have an account anymore, and not "Your answer was wrong"?
- Why TF does Netgate want to call me about my pfSense installer "purchase"?
Since the system is so complicated, I can't get an installer.. why?? Netgate, have you tested this stuff? Do you not like your customers?

Still a riddle why the website is so utterly annoying and makes the process more difficult than necessary!

I had no problems getting the installer file from the webshop, got in on first try, no captchas.
Probably something in your browser settings etc. causes it to trigger, from what I understand automated captchas can be triggered by many things for example adblockers, suspicious or lack of browser history, certain ip addresses, multiple fast page reloads etc. -
@mi8088 I’m just gonna say #6 is kinda funny, tbh. “I am human”…it’s not “LOL no you’re not,” it’s that you answered the single checkbox incorrectly and they want you to fix it.

@mi8088 I was running into an issue with recaptcha awhile ago when first updated to firefox 129.. Not this site but another one, just kept asking and asking and asking and when finally got to verify it would say your answer is wrong.
I just used chrome to get around the problem.. My understanding atleast with with recaptcha this is handled by google, if you google for recaptcha and firefox you will find it having issues going back for quite some time every now and then, etc.
This seems to have worked itself out, since haven't see the problem as of late..
So your issue might be related to that, and not really a netgate/pfsense sort of issue.
edit: btw I just downloaded the installer and didn't see one captcha anything.

I just tried it, and I cannot download the latest version as well.
It say go to check out and asks to login to my Netgate web forum. I cannot go further.

OK I got to register, but got a file using Winrar:
pfSense-plus-installer-24.06-BETA7-amd64-20240614-1949.img
Can this be used to install pfsense on my Qotom i5?
