I am currently using Nordvpn with dd-wrt.
      Linksys wrt3200acm router

      Thinking about WG
Looks like I need a new router ?
      NETGEAR Nighthawk WiFi 7 Router (BE9300) ?

      Need a new vpn ?
If so, I prefer offshore with no usa restriction but if the best is in usa, then its ok.

      Any advice welcome

      Newbie

        @narinesa So little confused..

What is WG? Wireguard? Watchguard? Weather Guru?

I am fairly certain that Neither Linksys nor Netgear build a device that pfSense will run on.. I haven't seen their latest catalog offerings but can pretty well take that bet.

Since you also mention VPN.. WG could be Wireguard. Love Wireguard. Just gonna need a little clarification. My crystal ball runs a Puma6 and is broken.. ;)

I am simply looking to use WG:

            Need suggestion for:

            1. VPN provider
            2. Router

@narinesa you understand you can use your current provider with openwrt and that hardware. I would think dd-wrt would support it too.

              https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/services/vpn/wireguard/client

My advice if you want a vpn, get something that runs pfsense - any of the netgate appliances would be good choice most likely, depends on your budget, then leverage your current router as just an AP. As for a vpn - just spin up a vps where you want and create a vpn to it.

              https://www.netgate.com/appliances

I would prob go with the 6100, if for some reason my SG-4860 took a dump.

I currently have a wireguard tunnel to a vps of mine that cost me all of 24 bucks a year. I don't normally route traffic through it - just have it mostly for testing and helping others, etc.

Your not going to find much help here using wireguard with anything other than pfsense, this is a pfsense forum

I am not a Netgear fan neither. And not a fan of the VPN providers that promise to hide you for a fee.. Unless you have a specific reason..

Johnpoz is correct.. you are not going to get much help here for other platforms..

It does look like the Linksys will run https://openwrt.org/toh/linksys/wrt32x

But you are on your own around here if you go that route.
