Installed pfsense but no internet

Hello all,
New pfsense user here, successfully installed it on an old office pc. Followed the set up guide by Louis Rossman.
But it doesn't appear to be outputting any internet.
But I can login to the pfsense router/server and change settings.

If WAN has no IP in the console, that implies it's not pulling an address. That NIC is connected to your ISP modem...?
2.7.2 is an old version.

@SteveITS no it's plugged directly into the line in to the property.
I will update it when I get the internet to work on it.

Status > System Logs > DHCP should have "dhclient" entries when it tries to get an IP from your ISP.
You had a different router working before? Could they have linked to its MAC address? That can be spoofed on the interface page.

It also looks to be trying to use the wrong IP address on the wan port compared to the one I set it up with.
If I plug my internet directly into my isp router it connects to the internet straight away.
What mac address should I use?

Yes the ISP could be locked to the MAC of the old router. You may be able to clear that by power cycling the modem.
Otherwise you would want to spoof the MAC of the ISP router on the pfSense WAN so the ISP sees it as the same device.

Is "my Internet" a router? A PC?
Did you power off the ISP router?

Yes I would try that. It's MAC is probably also on the label.

My internet= cable into my property
Everytime I am plugging my internet directly into my pfsense pc. I then connect to it with my laptop using the lan port.
My isp router is completely powered down when I do this.

There is probably a modem between the physical wire coming in and the Ethernet cable you connect to pfSense though?
Rebooting that may release any MAC lock if you can't easily find the MAC of the ISP router.

Ok, it's unlikely to be MAC locked if it's GPON. Can you tell us who your ISP is? BT?
I wouldn't expect anything special to be required here but some ISPs do odd things. It might require a specific client identifier or VLAN.

Does your ISP use PPPoe or?
Around here a local ISP allows one connection. That is based on the MAC address.. The lease time is over 24 hours. Plug it out Friday night.. it will work Sunday morning.. kind of thing.

Oh, right of course
If it's BT (or some 3rd party ISP using them) it will be PPPoE not DHCP. -

@chpalmer OK I will power off the Adtran SDX box for over 24 hours and reset the PFSense MAC address and try again.

But is it in the UK coming in over Openreach connection? If so you will need to configured PPPoE.
