I am a Chinese, and my English is poor.

An old 1U firewall,I want to fix it.

Because it has no VGA output, I tried to install pfsense embedded version.

But i find that 1.2.3 nanobsd(i tried all version:512,1g…) cannot be installed.

So I had to install 1.2.2 embedded version and it works good, but when i try to upgrade it to 1.2.3,it failed.

        Sorry…

I have read the upgrade guide.

Only the new nanobsd-based embedded supports upgrades

Then can anybody tell me how to install a nanobsd version to a harddisk?

You would need to connect the hard drive to another system and use dd to write the image to the disk.

            Thanks for your answer.

I used a HDD Enclosure to install 1.2.2 with dd and was succeed.

Should I link the harddisk directly to my pc to install 1.2.3 nanobsd?

1.2.2 and 1.2.3 embedded should install the same way with dd, if that worked for 1.2.2 it should work for 1.2.3.
