Has anyone setup pfsense on http://www.globalscaletechnologies.com/p-32-guruplug-server-plus.aspx ? Or the first model, sheevaplug? Well the first doesn't come out until april but I figured someone might have gotten a review unit by now.

Wonder if how compatible it would be with the hardware and how it would run on it.

They claim is pulls about 5 watts of power

      From the site
      Mean & Green

Drawing under 5 Watts of power, this little palm-sized powerhouse can handle all your biggest tasks while still saving about 96% on energy costs when compared to the average 175 Watt desktop computer.
      Limitless

You can customize your Plug to work in almost any industry - Home Automation, Security/Survellance,  Medical Monitoring, Industrial Automation, Smart Grid Electrical, Mesh and Grid Computing.
      Get Connected

You can never have enough storage, not to mention fast access to all that data… That's why we have provided Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Gigabit Ethernet, USB 2.O and eSATA connection options to the Server line of products. Go ahead give us what you got, we can take it.
      Package Contents:

      GuruPlug Server - PLUS
      (2x Gb Ethernet, 2 x USB 2.0, 1x eSATA @ 3Gb/s SATAII, 1x MicroSD Slot)
      USB Cable
      Ethernet (cat 5) Cable
      CD Containing Software and Documentations
Available in US, UK, or Euro Power Adapters

      Looks like a sweet device.

        See http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,22954.0.html

I believe there s a FreeBSD port to the Sheeva. That would probably handle most of the devices in the Guru EXCEPT the WiFi chip.

I've ordered a Guru plug to ee what I can do with it.

wallabybob - any update on this?  Were you successful in getting the GuruPlug working with pfSense?

Patience. A little while ago I received an email to say my GuruPlug wouldn't ship until end of April so its likely to be at least three weeks until I hold one in my hand.

Looks like there is a port for FreeBSD 8 & 9…

                  Looks problematic though…

I'm going to buy one of those. I have e-mailed the company and asked them about the product. They should be available soon.
I wanted to wait until the Plug Computer 3.0 comes out in the Fall. They are going to bump up the processor speed to 2.0GHz.
It may be a really long time before FreeBSD can be installed on it so I'm going to install Debian.

There are reports that FreeBSD already runs on the Guruplug's close cousin, the Sheeva: http://plugcomputer.org/plugwiki/index.php/FreeBSD_9.x_%289-current%29_Plug_Computer_Distribution
