Can i have my clients always receive the same IP via DHCP?

  • My setup is basically as a WISP.  My clients antenna conects and receives an IP via DHCP. I ould like it, for managemente purposes for their antenna to always get the same IP even when the DHCP lease expires, is this possible? Or how can i make that DHCP lease alot longer?

In Services -> DHCP Server, down the bottom of the page click "+" to add IP addresses to be assigned to specific MAC addresses.

In Services -> DHCP Server specify your desired value for Default lease time.

  • Thanks for that. I did try that but then they disappeared out of the DHCP lease list.. i guess that is normal.. I just wanted 1 place to be able to see the static and the leases together

Which DHCP lease list: Status -> DHCP Leases? My systems with fixed IP addresses (tied to MAC addresses) appear in Status -> DHCP leases

  • Ah ok, i will try that again. What i did was in the DHCP lease list, i clicked next to it whenre it says something about putting a static mapping.. when i did this it removed it from the lease list

  • Yes.. you can do this…
If you record the mac addresses of the computers you can add them to this DHCP scope...
