Aug 4 17:27:50    apinger: /usr/local/bin/rrdtool respawning too fast, waiting 300s.
Aug 4 17:26:50    apinger: Error while feeding rrdtool: Broken pipeAug 4 17:26:31

This is a known bug: http://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/1399
        It's not actually a problem.

There have been a few problems with snapshots in the last few days. If you're running the latest daily build you are living on the edge! That does look like a lot of errors though.

You may wish to edit your post to remove your real IP address.

It appears that the apinger is causing the system to wait the 300 seconds there-by causing a large delay in boot time…
If its not going to be fixed, how about an option to disable it?

Ntop - Would love to find a document that explains how to get and or install the update.

I thought there was something on the forums about the squidcache missing files was fixed but I cannot seem to locate it.

The Gateway issues I do not understand. I started down this path because of the Traffic Graph only shows my pppoe/Wan connection. Traffic Graph not showing the real Client connections confuses me to no end.

As for the IP in the post, thanks but one restart will fix that if needed. The one nice thing about a dynamic IP on DSL.... Need to get lost?  Reboot / Renew

          thanks

It doesn't cause a 5 minute delay in booting it just means the rrd tool isn't collecting data for 5 minutes.
It's in the system as a bug so will be fixed some time.

Don't know about squid or ntop sorry!  :P

I believe the gateway errors are simply early in the boot process before the WAN is up.
The traffic graph is on a per interface level not per IP. I saw your other post on this but the screen grab of Wingate is a bit too small to make out what it's showing.

The beauty of dynamic IPs!  :D

I asked one other time about monitoring client connections and the answer I got started me down the Reverse Proxy path… That leading me down the errors I am seeing.

For a better screen shot of the Wingate software connections page
              http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,39474.0.html

Would love to see this type of live connection info... Many times it has helped me ban whole sub-nets because of spanners trying to connect / hack the system

Hmm, yes that would be useful information.
Squid, although it can do it, is known as a bad reverse proxy. The pfSense package will not make it easy either. From memory it required some manual editing of config files to get it working at all.

                  Well… That's why I am testing this.
I don't mind the startup / leaning issues so long as I can figure out in a few weeks of testing if I can get it done.

At the same time I have an openSUSE server box I am working on. While not on-line yet, if pfSense does not pan out I will turn my efforts over to it.

btw: any recomandations on a working Reverse Proxy? or a way to get a simular screen working?  ;D
