      CPU: Opty 146
      Mobo: DFI Lanparty RDX200
      Mem: 2x 1gb G.Skillz HZ
      HDD: 1x 36gb Raptor
Using both lan ports which are Marvell's one is pci the other is pci-e and also use a NIC which is a DMZ.

Just curiuos how this setup will fair with:
      1 PS3 (dmz)
      1 Xbox (dmz)
      2 Wii
      1 Desktop
      2 Laptop

About the only packages I plan on really running outside of the firewall is squid and snort.

EDIT: This is obviously an old desktop I used and is doing a whole lot of nothing.  The CPU can be overclocked easily to 3ghz without any additional voltage.

It completely depends on your WAN bandwidth. However you'll almost certainly be fine.  ;)

You might want to try loading the LiveCD on the setup first.  I'm not certain if the MSK drivers are fixed yet.

Hmm, you're right. The 88E8053 is the chip which keeps locking up on the Firebox. It will be fixed in 2.1 though. Also I've never had a problem with it running at 100Mbps so perhaps use it for WAN.

I had problems with MSK drivers, some watchdog error(s). Supposedly it is fixed in FreeBSD 9. Witch pfSense 2.1 is based on.

              Good Luck

Thanks for all the info guys.

I tried putting the msk on WAN however it would then just crap out hopefully 2.1 comes out soon.  So it currently is sitting on LAN but I might have another pci nic to replace until the fix.
