Nut Not working…...... (Solved? Yes... In 1.3 it will be)

OK, so I'm trying to get nut working correctly and I'm getting the errors…......

Broadcast Message from root@firewall.(insert domain).net
        (no tty) at 20:43 PST...

UPS PfSenseUPS@localhost is unavailable

and when I use upsmon -K I get the code…...

Network UPS Tools upsmon 2.0.4
UPS: PfSenseUPS@localhost (master) (power value 1)
Using power down flag file /etc/killpower

Power down flag is not set

When I try to find the killpower file it is not there.

Does anyone have any suggestions. I can't find an answer to this and am still familiarizing myself with FreeBSD

Details would be ever so slightly useful! What version of pfSense, what version of the package, what UPS and how is it connected?

eh, ooops, well….....

PfSense 1.2 RC4 (firmware update from rc3) and nut 2.0.4. I would like to run nut 2.4 (If I remember correctly it's 2.4) but it's not listed in the packages and when i try to install it, it says that it has dependencies that are not met.

Oh, sorry…. APC 750. Connected via USB. It has no serial connection.

Yea, read it and tried it but afraid that it did no absolutely no good as I am still new to the linux and BSD world.

I can't believe that with the final release of PfSense that this was not updated! As far as I'm concerned this needs to be a update to put to the top of the list! For those that are running infrastructures this is a critical piece of software that needs to function correctly.

I BEG, PLEASE UPDATE NUT!

Packages are not part of pfSense itself.
The maintainer of a package is not necessarily one of the developers of pfSense

I can't believe that with the final release of PfSense that this was not updated!

You could open a bounty and hope someone or the maintainer of the package takes it.

The issue here is that pfSense uses FreeBSD 6.2. The updated Nut port is on FreeBSD 6.3. To insure compatibility we are sticking with the 6.2 version. If the port becomes updated I will update the Nut pfSense package. Otherwise you can install the 6.3 port at your own risk.
