We have 2 pfsense boxes set up with BGP.

      Primary box:
      WAN:
      4.16.216.134
      GW: 4.16.216.133

      Secondary box
      4.16.115.210
      GW: 4.16.115.209

      Carp address: 4.15.227.2

The carp address shows up at both boxes as MASTER.

The secondary now no gateway when you look at the WAN settings.
But does show the primarys gateway when you look under routing.

When  I tracert to both ip's it going over diverse networks so it looks like its working.

      Is this normal?
What happens when I shut down the primary will it just update its gateway?

      I am confused here.
