I installed the latest beta snapshot this morning on both VM's and so far no crashes. If anything comes up I'll report back here but so far looking good.

If you have no means to roll back, not ZFS or a VM, then the fastest way to get to 23.09Beta is reinstall. Or just remain on the dev branch on that box.

@SteveITS Hey Steve, Im aware of those links provided. In the specific case that i mentioned, its a problem with FRR not specifically with the firewall itself. It's a problem that impacts any security appliance that is running FRR hence the Palo Alto security bulletin i mentioned. Nevertheless, this is about outreach - communication to customers. A better job needs to be done. Not only will this address the OPs concerns but it helps overall in the awareness for your customers. edit: Its also possible that other vendors are on a different version of an FRR port that may be vulnerable and pfSense is totally safe. Still doesnt take away that a bit more of a proactive approach to positive engagement is certainly welcomed.

We were working through some transitioning to slightly different packaged builds that had a few rough patches. They should all be resolved now as of 23.09.a.20230920.1314. If you got dropped to a shell at boot and it won't proceed, try the procedure I mentioned over on https://forum.netgate.com/post/1126533

It's not unusual for it to be a few days between builds, especially if we are debugging things or chasing build failures for various reasons during development.
