I have a hard time getting pf sense to work.

I have got a DrayTek Vigor 130 as a modem in bridge mode. The device was pretty much set up.
I just changed the VLAN Tag to 0 made sure PPPoE was disabled and MPoA and bridge mode was enabled.
I put in my DSL cable and a Ethernet cable to connect to my pfsense.

On the pfsense I setup the WAN port o be PPPoA. I entered my credentials and turned dial on demand on.
After that I created a VLAN 7 and under PPP I configured it to use the VLAN interface and entered my credentials once more.

However I can't get a connection on my WAN port.

The WAN interface shows a free arrow and the status is "uptime: -" and where the IP should be it says n.a.
I called my ISP and the said the modem did successfully connected

Below are some pictures of my config

That looks OK as long as the ISP is expecting VLAN7 and the credentials are correct.

Are you sure the modem is not re-tagging the traffic as VLAN0? I would try setting the VLAN tag to 7 there and using the untagged interface in pfSense.

@stephenw10 so you mean setting the VLAN to 7 on the modem and then just setting up the WAN interface using PPPoE and that's it?
And what do I set under Assignments -> PPPs

Yes, set the VLAN in the modem and just use the parent interface in pfSense. So re1 in your case.

@stephenw10 Ok, my ISP uses DS-Lite so I don't have a real IPv4. I set "None" for the IPv4 Configuration type and now the WAN interface shows a green arrow and 1000baseT<full-duplex> but no IP Adress

The WAN must still be set to PPPoE to authenticate. Just that the ppp config is now on re1 rather than re1.7.

@stephenw10 thanks for your help. I ultimately switched back to my Fritzbox and activated PPPoE-Passthrough on it and connected pfsense to it. It now gets an IPv4 Adresse and everything is working.

Can you see how the VLAN is configured there?

@stephenw10 I guess there is VLAN configured because I didn't need to set it on the pfsense
