      Yes, you can put your traffic through pfSense without losing bandwidth as long as the hardware you use is sufficient. What is available bandwidth from your ISP?

          Ok, passing 1Gbps of firewall+NAT is not that hard, you don't need particularly powerful hardware.

          However if you want to run packages and still pass that, and it sounds like you do, you will need something reasonably powerful.

                I can use my PC and change my current network card Ethernet to 1.25G Network card T-4 or 2 RJ45 and setup VM .. or I can use smaller hardware .. idk

                  @rezapci

                  Since its going to sorting and filtering and AD blocking it need a 2ghz and 8gb memory to perform small home networking bandwidth

                  I guess I prefer to build or buy such machine rather using my pc for 24/7 pfsense tasks ..

                    What CPU is in that?

                    Running that as a test to get some idea of the loading with your intended setup is not a bad idea. That will allow you to buy something appropriately sized later.

                        Ok, well that would definitely be overkill, especially if it's a recent i5.

                        But if you have that available to test with I would do so to get an idea of what you might need there.

                            Use an Intel based NIC if at all possible.

                                Something i350 based for a multiport NIC or i210/i211 will work well.

                                You might also check this list of OEM equivalent NICs:
