      I can use my PC and change my current network card Ethernet to 1.25G Network card T-4 or 2 RJ45 and setup VM .. or I can use smaller hardware .. idk

        Since its going to sorting and filtering and AD blocking it need a 2ghz and 8gb memory to perform small home networking bandwidth

        I guess I prefer to build or buy such machine rather using my pc for 24/7 pfsense tasks ..

          What CPU is in that?

          Running that as a test to get some idea of the loading with your intended setup is not a bad idea. That will allow you to buy something appropriately sized later.

              Ok, well that would definitely be overkill, especially if it's a recent i5.

              But if you have that available to test with I would do so to get an idea of what you might need there.

                      Something i350 based for a multiport NIC or i210/i211 will work well.
