You were able to set the Plus upgrade repo in System > Update?

Yep. I can set the repo to the plus upgrade but no matter the repo it still says unable to check for update.

At the command line if you run pfSense-upgrade -d does it offer the upgrade to Plus?

@stephenw10 There is a line as soon as it starts the update process asking me if i want to upgrade but there is no prompt or delay to let me input anything. I have tried typing in Upgrade while it is installing and checking repos but it does not do anything. Hopefully the people over at Netgate are working on it. I am at work so i cannot try anything until tonight. As far as i know i have given them full access to this box to see if they can figure out what is going on.

So it looks like they found the issue. When i get home tonight we will see if it actually upgrades for me. If it does this will be solved.

"It appears your installation was defaulting/preferring to use IPv6 for the upgrade and was hitting a snag."

Yup, I was involved there. Running pkg -d4 update allowed it to complete so there is some problem with the IPv6 routing. We set it to prefer v4 locally and it succeeded.

Sorry to steal this thread, but it seems that I'm having a similar type of issue.

It seems that suddenly I cannot check for updates or check for package updates from the webUI. I get an error saying "unable to retrieve package information" and "unable to check for updates"

Going into CLI and issuing pkg update does work, but take A LOT of time. Like 12-15 minutes to check everything and output that All repositories are up to date.

Running pkg -d4 update makes it work at regular speed, finishing in just a few seconds.

What's going on with this? My IPv6 setup is fully functional, all my other IPv6 enabled devices run just fine with no evident lag or delay.

Yes, there is a routing issue at the server side we are working on now. Should be resolved shortly.
