I'm not aware of a limit. 256GB isn't especially large.
Can you not copy/paste the error from the terminal during the install? Or grab a screenshot?
Ok terminal errors:

Hmm, that error sure looks like a bad drive. But it could be some low level compatibility issue with the drive controller.

I have ordered a brand new 120GB MSATA and a 120GB 2.5" SSD.
As both of the MSATA drives I have tried are second hand I have no history and can only go by the data.Odd thing that the smart data says healthy but I have seen a nearly dead drive reported as good before, so I always take the results it gives with a pinch of salt.
If I had an MSATA adapter I could try testing the drive on another machine but the M370 is the only MSATA device I have.
-
Mmm, I've got an m.2 SATA drive here that behaves similarly. It usually allows an install but throws errors continually. Shows as good in tests, though with a lot of ware. I wouldn't trust it with anything vaguely important! Odd to see the same on two drives though.
-
The other one was showing errors about read write and invalid geometry and invalid primary GPT using secondary. Even writing DD zeros to it produced errors.
Unfortunately I can not test that one anymore as I no longer have it to test.

@HangmansNoose001380 Can you DM me the BIOS-File?.
BigThx
-
Can anyone DM me the unlock password bios please?

Sent.

@kapook00789 Me too! TNX!
-
@Mookatroid Can you please send me the password?

@stephenw10 hi, just to confirm the correct one is in /post/1067389 ? Thank

@networkBob Can’t really find much on the board, can you see a header to clear BIOS Password ? If not you would require to re-program the BIOS chip, I’ve done quite a few on Security Appliances and Laptops.
Regards.

I think you may be replying to an old post there.
Most of that has been solved or at least understood at this point.
-
@stephenw10 My bad. Sorry about that, I saw the post on a email notification so thought I’d chime in.
Regards.

Thanks everyone for the info! I realized leter that the PS was on that image. jejejje
Another question. It make sense to use SATA port with a SSD instead the MSATA? I saw that we can disable the MSATA PORT, so we can test on the SSD without buying another disk or removing the original. -
Yes, if you have a spare SSD or mSATA drive you can just swap it in and retain the original driver and OS.
-
So now my M470 works flawlessly with the SSD disk but I have two issues:
- The names of the interfaces: IG0 and so on BUT begining from the PCI MODULE: so my port 0 on the front of the M470 is IGB08 and so on. The extra module with 6 ports is 0 to 6
- The external module, works and is detected BUT when I connect the network to these ports, the system dont detect the conection ever.
Have you the same issues?
TNX -
Yes, the ports in the add-on module are parsed first. I'm not aware of a six port module though. I've seen the 8 port 1G module and 4 port 10G module.
-
@stephenw10 Sorry my mistake, it's 8 port.
Apparently works well because it detects (first) but when I connect the cables the interface never detects the conection in any of the 8 ports.
