ICMP best practice?

I'd like to pass ICMP Destination Unreachable; ICMP Source Quench; and ICMP Time Exceeded (both to and from the internet).

Are rules needed to pass this traffic in from the WAN, or does pfSense do this automatically in a nice clean stateful way?
