Hello, I have a problem activating php5-gd in pfsense shell.

    What I did:

    1. pkg_add -r ftp://ftp-archive.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD-Archive/ports/i386/packages-8.1-release/Latest/php5-gd.tbz

    2. After download complete I type rehash (as stated here http://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Installing_FreeBSD_Packages)

    3. I uploaded a php file containing phpinfo() under captive portal file manager and accessed it through browser and still the GD was not present.

I want to use GD for captcha in my custom login page.

    Any idea what I missed?

    my PHP Version is 5.2.17

first, the version of the gd module would have to match exactly the version of PHP we include, 5.2.17.

That file you linked is for php5-5.3.2_1

If you manage to compile/find the right package, you'd still have to tell it to be loaded, it doesn't automatically load every module. Search around for "php_dynamodules" here on the forum for info on how to make that happen.

No, we don't use GD for anything like that on pfSense, so it's not something we include.
