Available Packages is empty in Package Manager

Same here.
I had the same issue yesterday ~11:00 UTC. As I was troubleshooting I checked again and the available packaged reappeared along with some updated installed packaged. I figured the package repo is taken offline while adding updates. Is that how it works? It's around 11 now.

@emammadov Do you happen to have high CPU usage?
I have one instance of pkg-static using one core at 100% for the last 45 minutes after a reboot, load average at 1.3.

@sotirone
Yes -
@asv345h Just checked after my first comment, I now have two instances of pkg-static occupying two out of four cores at 100%. Total CPU usage around 55%, temps in the 70s (HP T620 thin client) and one-minute load average of 2.59.

I've had the same problem with pkg-static eating one core, after ~1 hour the process disappeared without reboot or anything, so just be patient.
But I disabled the dashboard update check in the Update Settings.-Rico

Do you know when it is going to be fixed?

I have failed to perform an upgrade from 2.4.4_1 to 2.4.4_2... the box keeps stuck at initializing system update :/Any time estimation ?

We are running pfsense 2.4.4-RELEASE-p2, everything was okay until now, this problem occurred today.
-
With my Qotom i5 firewall also a 100% CPU usage from pkg-static. I can't update the box.
I did a reinstall and then found this thread... :(PowerD is running the Minimum setting. On adaptive the CPU reached 90c. Now the temperature is around 50c
-
@kweetwel To avoid high CPU utilization and temperature first go to System -> Update -> Update settings and check "Disable the Dashboard auto-update check". Then reboot the firewall and pkg-static is not going to start. Remember to re-enable it when the repo problem is fixed.
-
@sotirone Thanks for the tip. Already did it. The only thing is, that the process still was restarting after I killed it. The temps are under control at the moment, so I'm a little less stressed. :)

We are running pfsense 2.4.4-RELEASE-p2, the same problem occurred today.

Same problem here on 2 boxes, since 1PM London time. Unacceptable if pfSense is being offered a commercial product under the Netgate brand.
-
It would be nice to hear a reply from pfsense about this problem.
-
Disable the dashboard automatic update check, the process will disappear after some time (max ~1 hour). No reboot or anything is required.
I'm sure the Devs will fix this issue in future.
Shit happens sometimes...months ago I had some 30.000 € HP BTO Server dead on arrival.-Rico

Thank you for your reply. But it would be also nice to see this kind of messages in the section of "Message from the pfSense team"".

This appears to have been resolved.
