Aug 6 18:13:01 php: : Beginning XMLRPC sync to http://10.1.0.2:80.

i have both usernames and passwords the same on the two firewalls and i retyped them in the carp interface to make sure there wa snot a typo

SO AS FAR as of this image 1.2.1-RC1

:) OK, so i´m not alone with my tests, i can duplicate this, CARP does not work with 1.21, i have tested it again and again, master to backup was not synced.

kernel: carp0: Backup –> Master (preempting a slower master)
kernel: carp0: Master --> Backup (more frequent advertisement received)

xmlrpc communication error with username :  xxxxx (admin) or anything else - it doesn´t run.

          Regards
          Heiko

Are you using 1.2.1 for both master and backup?

Just installed one cluster with 20080810-1447 and everything seems to be ok after 2 hours. I'll give feebback if something goes wrong.

Yes, the configuration is the same as 1.2 (Wan Carp, lan Carp), but with 1.21 it didn´t run. The same test scenario, but if all people says, it runs, i will test it again..,thanks ermal

Please retry with a recent snapshot and see if the problem goes away.

Carp works with https in 1.2 as it should, 1.21 have a few bugs, at the moment with ipsec and carp clustering, wait and see…

                                              "UnderCover",

Start a shell (via console or ssh) and try

                                              fetch http://10.1.0.2:80/

If that doesn't work (with the username and password of the system that's trying to sync – remember, they have to be the same on both boxes), then figure out to fix that first.

We confirmed that https synchronisation atleast is not succeeding.

It should be fixed in a upcoming snapshot.

The carp cluster should otherwise function normally. It does so in my production setup at work.
We are still investigating a few other issues here.
