So I did the foolish and clicked upgrade. Everything seemed to go as normal, but the reboot didn't fire even though it said it would. eventually, I navigated to Diag-reboot and initiated that. Router is now dead. nothing on the console.

Have tried power cycling, and SATA/STATUS light red, then after maybe 20 or 30 seconds go out.
Again, non-responsive on console, no messages at all.

I'm out of warranty and have been using this since 2015 with nary a hiccup. I hate to think that an upgrade from source would brick a device. That's just plain silly.

      Any thoughts?

I should add that I've since tried to boot from USB - with a community edition pfSense DL and with the netgate updater that I wish I had seen prior to the pfSense upgrade as I fear this is what has screwed things up.

There's pitifully little documentation on these in terms of forcing boot, clearing flash, etc. Frustrated!

              So not looking good folks.
reset the NVRAM by bridging J8 pins 2-3. (ref: http://adiengineering.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/RCC-VE-Platform-User-Manual-R1001.pdf). Still no output on the console, and both SATA/STATUS leds are red.

Worried that I'm out of warranty and that a software update, prompted by the software itself appears to have bricked the unit.

Hoping that the good folks at Netgate can help me get it working again.

Our warehouse opens in the morning (they deal with hardware and replacements), so our support is waiting on them for instructions on the next step.

                  Is it AVR54?
I think this is not related to update itself but to reboot when AVR54 bug already launched.

Not sure, all I know is our support RMA'd it.

                        Definitely NOT a similar issue.

upgrade to 2.3.3_1 doesn't reboot? and powered off and on doesn't come back on…
                          same device.

                          similar if you ask me...

probably the actions taken after are why we are at a different stage.

in any case - my issue has been resolved by support
