I have a Motorola Canopy Subscriber Module that provides my internet access, but I can not access its configuration through the firewall.

The modem has an internal address of 169.254.1.1 but my internet provider issues public addresses through it (in the 216.xxx.xxx.xxx range)

When I have the modem plugged directly into the computer, I get the 216 address.  I can access the internet and be able to access the 169.254.1.1 address.  But when I put the router in between the two I can no longer access the modem page.

I have tried various firewall rules but nothing is working.  What do I have to do to be able to access the modem through the router?
