Slow ssh access
-
Hi,
I have a strange problem with my pfsense box since it's running on 1.2.x. I use a mini-ITX board, with two integrated via rhine nics and an Atheros 5212 card. The problem is that when I try to establish a SSH connection from a wireless client to a hardwired server, connections are VERY slow. When I open a connection using putty on my windows wireless client, I type in my userid and press ENTER, I have to wait for about 10 to 15 seconds until I see 'password:' and can type in my password.
Once logged in, the console 'stutters' all the time. I do an 'ls' and I have to wait 10-15 secs again to see the directory listing sometimes.
Ssh connections between two hardwired machines is not a problem at all.
Any idea what could be the problem?
Best regards,

I often have this problem too - it seems to have gone away once I specified the pfsense box's IP in the DHCP server section as the default gateway and DNS server. It should pass that through by default but I've noticed it doesn't always. My SSH connections are fast again for the time being.
