pfSense 2.5.0 Development Snapshots Now Available
-
We are excited to announce the public availability of development snapshots for pfSense 2.5.0 are available now!
Please read the blog post (
including all of the warnings
) first.Reminder: Take a backup before, and a snapshot if it's a VM. These are early development snapshots and are likely to be unstable. Don't expect a smooth ride. We've fixed a lot of obvious things but there is much more left to do.

@dennis_s
According to redmine there is not really much development for 2.5.0 in the last months.
In another thread a new beta release was estimated already for April 2019.
Is there a timeline when 2.5.0 will be approximately be planned for release or is it delayed to unknown? -
Hi @ramup,
As you can see from redmine there are a few tickets that need to be tested/verified. We ask that you please test and leave feedback for all tickets to help move the project along as fast as possible. While the more people we have testing will bring the completion day closer, we do not have a set release date yet.
You mention there has not been much progress on redmine however some of these issues are not trivial and require large amounts of code work to be fixed properly.
Also, some of these tickets we are working on are in a "private" fashion as they have security implications.
We try our best to keep the community updated and will continue to do so as we move closer to a stable release.

Are you going to make images available for testing on the SG-1100?

There are still some known issues blocking 2.5 on the 1100 we need to get resolved first, and then once that happens it will be available for test upgrades.
