Routing to Openvpn Client
-
Hello everyone,
I am struggling with the connection between my devices to the VPN client.
I have connected an OpenVPN client with my pfSense VM (192.168.5.230). On the other side, where the OpenVPN Server is (Synology NAS), has the Network 192.168.180.0/24.
So far so good. I can ping the 192.168.180.1 router from the pfSense console and Ping-Tool.On the 192.168.5.0/24 Network I have the main router which is 192.168.5.254 and has the static route that all traffic 192.168.180.0/24 should go to the pfSense (192.168.5.230). Here is where I can't go forward... I cannot ping the 192.168.180.1 router from any client of the 192.168.5.0/24 network.
I have tried setting up the LAN interface of the OpenVPN Client, setting up the NAT Outbound rules, an static route on pfSense but non of these had succeed.
The trace route from the 192.168.5.0/24 network stucks on the pfsense IP.
What I am doing wrong?
I repeat, all Pings made from pfSense to the 192.168.180.0/24 network work.
Thank you in advance for the help

Either set up the OpenVPN server on the router (default gateway) or set up a transit network on the router and move the VPN server into it.Your setup ends up in asymmetric routing issues.
