Pfsense Return to their default setting.
-
Hy guys,
last night my production PFsense return to their default settings.due this i lost my all configuration .
please help me about this issue to prevent next time. -
@shakeel Disk full? File system corruption?
https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/troubleshooting/filesystem-check.html
https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/troubleshooting/filesystem-usage.htmlHaven't had that happen in all my time using pfSense at any client. Though we still save a backup after every config change...

Anything logged? Are you running ZFS?
-
@stephenw10
No no.
I am not using ZFS -
@steveits
Not a single package are updated or reinstalled. and all packages are according to their version. -
Did it boot back up?
Do you have any config backups shown in Diag > Backup/Restore > Config history?
Or stored in /conf/backup?
The only reason it would use a default config is if the current config and all previous configs somehow became invalid. Or if it was intentionally reset.

Yes. If needed pfSense will prompt you to assign interfaces while restoring.

can I run 2 Pfsesne as Active or Active and Active or Passive .

During the restore it prompts you to pick which is LAN and which is WAN. I don't know of a web page to give you, sorry.

Yes, see
https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/highavailability/index.htmlI would ask about that in the HA forum though.

@steveits
Thanks -
When you import the config it will take you to the interfaces re-assign screen so you can assign the new interfaces before it reboots.
You can run pfSense in High Availability as Acitve-Passive:

Hi,
I am facing the Captcha issue ,when I route a traffic through my PFsense Gateway.it appear on my Browser on Every Search.it my be a google or Firefox.. Please someone here to Resolve this issue In PFsense. -
@shakeel
https://support.google.com/websearch/thread/2596872?hl=enthis says reinstall Chrome:
https://support.google.com/chrome/thread/19766057/annoying-chrome-asks-for-captcha-every-single-time?hl=enNot sure why you think it's pfSense related? You mention "though pfSense" but are other attempts coming from the same public IP address?
-
@steveits
is it possible due to Proxy server setting like (Snort) or any other services In PFsense. -
More likely because pfSense it sending that traffic over a VPN.
A proxy on pfSense would not change the source IP.
Snort is an IDS/IPS not a proxy. Squid is an http proxy. But it's not either of those things.
