        Did it boot back up?

Do you have any config backups shown in Diag > Backup/Restore > Config history?

        Or stored in /conf/backup?

The only reason it would use a default config is if the current config and all previous configs somehow became invalid. Or if it was intentionally reset.

Yes. If needed pfSense will prompt you to assign interfaces while restoring.

Pre-2.7.2/23.09: Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to restart, or more depending on packages and device speed.

During the restore it prompts you to pick which is LAN and which is WAN. I don't know of a web page to give you, sorry.

                    Yes, see

I would ask about that in the HA forum though.

When you import the config it will take you to the interfaces re-assign screen so you can assign the new interfaces before it reboots.

You can run pfSense in High Availability as Acitve-Passive:
                        https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/highavailability/index.html

                            this says reinstall Chrome:

Not sure why you think it's pfSense related? You mention "though pfSense" but are other attempts coming from the same public IP address?

is it possible due to Proxy server setting like (Snort) or any other services In PFsense.

More likely because pfSense it sending that traffic over a VPN.

A proxy on pfSense would not change the source IP.

Snort is an IDS/IPS not a proxy. Squid is an http proxy. But it's not either of those things.

So.... unrelated to the previous issue with Google search?

You should open a new thread.

So you want to log any down time on each gateway?

You can check the gateway logs for alarm entries it will show when a gateway is marked down and when it is back up.
