      @binhex01 I already have a 120mm fan attached. Idles around +- 25° so that can't be a problem. I've PMed you with an offtopic question.

        I can't seem to move the needle off 402 MHz, which is absurd. I know from related threads that these values are reported by the BIOS, so I'm sort of expecting it's something there, but I'm not sure what would be so egregiously wrong as to cause this. The reported clock is so low that my mind of course went to thermal throttling, but the core temps seems to me reported accurately (or at least they change values instead of being fixed) and are hovering right around 38C.

        I also considered whether these reported values may just be bogus, but the results of running some openssl benchmarks suggest that they are not, as they came out about 5X slower than a machine I have with an older N5105.

        Of course I realize the hardware/BIOS may just be garbage and know it's a risky venture with them, any thoughts of things to try or look for would be much appreciated. Thank you!

          @Le_zOU Did you see the post from @binhex01 in this thread? They provided a link to a Google Drive folder that is still active with the BIOS and a write-up of exactly what they did:

          The only known way to address this is to flash an unlocked BIOS and then tweak a few settings (specifically power levels).

                @Le_zOU Thanks for following up with your results and glad to hear it worked for you as well. One test I was using as something of a "proxy" for determining processor speed is an openssl benchmark. I'm sure it's not perfect, but I definitely saw huge improvements after I updated the BIOS and tweaked the power settings. The command I was using is:
                openssl speed -evp aes-256-gcm
                And for reference, here are my results from my N100 system:

                    @Le_zOU Looks good! And you helped me out too because it seems like I was unwittingly hobbling my own N100 with a too-aggressive Speed Shift setting. I'd had it at 85 but with some testing, 50 seems to be something of a sweet spot for me.

                        In the end I didnt flash. I dont have the low clock speed issue. I also have a different board layout to the screenshots posted on the other forum, so I think my board revision is different, the bios may still be compatible but given I dont have the locked low clocked speeds, it would mostly be a "nice to have" thing for me rather than a necessity.
