@sef1414 Name it "run.sh", copy to pf and chmod according documentation https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/development/boot-commands.html#shell-script-option You will see messages in the system log like those quoted in the script after logger command.

Hi again, thank you for your quick responses, I ran "tcdump -i rl1" to monitor my wan line and it turns out that Zaafiriel was right.  The constant traffic mostly arp request from my isp charter.  It seems like there routers or something constantly ask everyone if there using this or that ip.  I attached some of the output of the command. Is this normal from an isp, its seems like a waste of bandwidth, granted its only using about 5kbps, but still… Thanks again, matt log.txt

setup is PKI. openvpn[1211]: /sbin/ifconfig tun0 192.168.10.2 192.168.10.1 mtu 1500 netmask 255.255.255.255 up That is not consistant. If you have a PKI you wouldn't see that. It should look something like that: /sbin/ifconfig tun0 10.0.55.6 pointopoint 10.0.55.5 mtu 1500

Currently not. You might sponsor it to have integrated though.

When you say "open" - do you mean you forwarded them? Have you tried the use of HTTP - as detailed here in this linked article?

@TheEagle: And the other main question: can the current stable version be recommended for production use in a (small) company environment? Overlooked this part on my first reply - absolutely, it's great for production use in all kinds of environments. There are (at a minimum) thousands of companies with it deployed in production, from one person offices to environments with thousands of users, and everything in between.

you need to change from ppoa to ppoe in the modem OR enable bridging and have pf be the router. Qwest tech had me do the ppoa -> ppoe and it worked, i then enabled bridging and have been problem free ever since. its not just the sites you listed, it varies, mine were opendns and frys electronics, to name a few, qwest says its glitch that happens sometimes….

That means your system's clock is running backwards, which is generally a BIOS bug. Make sure you're on the latest BIOS version, that usually fixes it. If it doesn't, disabling ACPI might.

We had similar problems that plagued us for a long time.  Eventually traced it back to a failing network jack on XO's on premises router.  We had them swap our config to the other jack, and life has been good since.

That looks great! I'm not very experienced with scripting but I think I understand most of your script there. I'm not sure when I'll get a chance to implement this but when I do I'll try out the script and report back what I find. Thanks again for the help!

Your right about ppoa sorry about that. which bridged option is the modem in? (there are about 5 i think) pick the plain RFCXXXX transparent option.

try changing from ppoa to ppoe if you have console access type in option 100 (the links web browser) and try to access google.com, you will have to hit esc first and then f1 and then select go to and type in http://www.google.com if you can access it that way then it is either the ppoa/ppoe setting (switch to the other that you are not using) or the disk is full on pfsense, search the forums for clearing the squid cache. try doing 1:1 nat

@albert.hang: Hey, I know a lot of admins visit this board so I thought I might this non-pfsense related question here.(although if pfsense were to get a module that could do mft that would be nice). I'm looking for an open source or affordable Managed File transfer system. Sorta like what the various download sites use (like yousendit, rapidshare, etc) I work for a banking and insurance firm which needs a secure way to send files from 10mb to 100mb to various sites while keeping some sort of record of each transfer. We've tried ftp in the past but would like something more secure and more user friendly. Teaching 50 year old bankers on how to use a pc is hard enough… Any ideas guys? Albert, Take a look at Accellion's secure file transfer solution. Accellion allows you to send and receive files up to 20GB. We also have the security and tracking and reporting tools necessary to demonstrate compliance with HIPAA and Sarbanes-Oxley if that is important to you. For end users, our solution is as easy as attaching a file to an email and hitting send, so it's very user friendly. Let me know if you have any questions or if you want to talk to someone here to help better understand your needs. We also have a free business user trial if you're interested: http://www.accellion.com/solutions/free-user-trial.html Accellion
