    This is not good...

    IPvfoo requests...

Access your data for all websites

The extension could read the content of any web page you visit, as well as data you enter into those web pages, such as usernames and passwords.

    Extensions requesting this permission might:

    It might.
But you know what : it's open source, so I don't bother with the 'what it could do'.
I look up what it actually does, as it isn't that big.

Btw : My browser also stores password, FF is open source, 980 thousands lines of code .... didn't have time to check it entirely 😊

It is someone messing up. They are intending to commit to their own fork or do something for themselves but they're submitting pull requests containing things we'd never want to merge.

We can't delete other people's forks, and unless I'm missing something I don't see an option to delete the PRs either, just close them.

@guardian said in Was the forum user database every compromised?:

am wondering if the forum user database was ever compromised?

I created an email alias that was only used to register for this forum and never used to send email to anyone.

When cleaning out a spam box I noticed a few spam messages sent to that address.

I am going to change the address and see if the issue comes back, but if there was an incident (in the last 2-3 years) it would give me peace of mind knowing that my system was not likely the source of the compromise.

If you suspect that your email alias used for forum registration might have been compromised, it's a good practice to change the email address associated with your forum account, as you mentioned. Additionally, it's advisable to use unique and strong passwords for your accounts, enable two-factor authentication if available, and monitor your accounts for any suspicious activity.

Some organizations use b2b data enrichment tools for known data breaches. You can check with services like Have I Been Pwned to see if your email address has been involved in any known breaches.

Remember to stay vigilant about online security practices, such as regularly updating passwords, using unique passwords for each service, and being cautious about phishing attempts.

@Guemes said in your IP address has been banned ??:

    Spamhause ZEN has it listed

Spamhaus Zen will have most residential/non-business/dynamic IPs because it includes the PBL list as set by various ISPs:
    https://www.spamhaus.org/pbl/
"The Spamhaus PBL is a DNSBL database of end-user IP address ranges which should not be delivering unauthenticated SMTP email to any Internet mail server except those provided for specifically by an ISP for that customer's use. The PBL helps networks enforce their Acceptable Use Policy for dynamic and non-MTA customer IP ranges.

PBL IP address ranges are added and maintained by each network participating in the PBL project, working in conjunction with the Spamhaus PBL team, to help apply their outbound email policies."

@viragomann yeah was just looking at that one - none of his past ips show being on the black list for the forums that I have direct access to look at.

Network issues can be strange sometimes. It could have been a temporary problem with your ISP or a glitch in their routing. If it's working fine now, it might have been a short-lived hiccup.
